Despite the national media reporting a significant decrease in the numbers of students taking Arts and Humanities subjects, we are delighted to report that our numbers continue to increase and continue to be successful. Every year we welcome students from local and regional schools who join us to benefit from our broad and inclusive curriculum. To give a measure of our success over 50% of our sixth formers study at least one Humanities or Arts subject and 39% of all students who studied Arts subjects attained the highest grades of A* and A.

Physics and Maths results are exceptional this year. 80% of all Physics students achieved A* or A. 50% of our large Mathematics cohort achieved A* or A, 100% of Further Maths students gained B or above. Results in Sport are equally outstanding as are Psychology, Fashion & Textiles, Politics, Health & Social Care, Graphics, Fine Art and many others.

We are very proud to report no overall gap in progress and achievement between those students with SEND and those without; a reflection of the outstanding provision our staff offer to all our students.

On Friday September 6th we look forward to welcoming back our new Year 13 students who have already completed an excellent first year in our Sixth form and who will, I am sure, continue to flourish.

To our outgoing year 13 students -well done and good luck for a super future. Don’t forget to stay in touch and come to your certificate event Tuesday January 6th 2025, 4pm start in Futures. "
