Frome schools consultation

Somerset Council is carrying out an informal consultation to ask the Frome community whether there is support for a significant change to local education structures, specifically a move from the current three-tier system to a two-tier education system.

No final decisions have been made.  The consultation is designed to gather community views before any detailed proposals are developed. If there is community support, a full statutory consultation with detailed proposals would be developed and launched in June-July 2026.

The consultation runs from 23rd February 2026 to 20th March 2026.

There are two drop-in sessions on Wednesday 11th March 2026 at:

• The Key Centre (2.0 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.)
• Frome Town Hall (5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.)

Any parents or members of the community are welcome to attend and no booking is required.
