We have very high expectations at the College and as a member of our community we expect you to be responsible for your appearance, conduct and learning.

Be prepared
Students should come to College with the correct equipment:

  •  Pen
  • Pencil
  • Scientific calculator
  • Student journal
  • A reading book
  • An appropriate bag

Coming and going

  • Be at your tutor base or in assembly by 8.45am each day for registration
  • No cycling, scooting or skateboarding on the campus. If you want to bring a bicycle to school you must get a permit from your Head of House
  • If you have an outside appointment during the school day please remember to sign out in Student Services
  • If you are unwell during the school day you will need a note from the teacher whose lesson you are missing to go to the Welfare officer. Do not contact home directly or leave the site without permission.

Moving around the College site

  • Keep to the paths around the College; avoid shortcuts which take you through mud.
  • Keep the site tidy and put litter into waste bins
  • Stay within the boundaries stated at break and lunchtime
  • Ball games can only be played in specified areas

Start of lessons and registration

  • Enter rooms, when given permission
  • Sit in the seat that your teacher has asked you to sit in
  • Take off and put away any outdoor wear (not on desks)
  • Take out books, pens and equipment
  • Put bags away (not on desks)
  • Remain silent during the register (except when your name is called!).

During lessons

  • When your teacher talks to the whole class, remain silent
  • You are expected to work with your fellow students so that you make it as easy as possible for everyone to learn and for the teacher to teach
  • Treat furniture, books and equipment with care
  • If you arrive late without justifiable cause you must expect to be detained for the amount of time you missed in order to make up the work
  • Eating, drinking and chewing in lessons are not allowed. You may drink water if you have permission from the member of staff
  • Cameras (including those on mobile phones and tablets) must not be used in College unless it is part of the lesson

Please note that all such items are brought in to College at  your own risk. We cannot be held responsible for any losses.

Finally, but most importantly

  • Teachers are in the position of parents/carers while you are in school. They will do their best to help and support you
  • There is no excuse for rudeness or disrespect towards staff
  • Any request from a member of staff should be carried out at once and without argument

Breaking these basic rules will be treated as a serious matter
