Shortly before Christmas a group of Year 10 & 11 students went to Paris to practise their French, and improve their knowledge of the country and its culture.

On the visit students enjoyed a cruise down the River Seine on the Bateaux Mouches, a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, Montmartre, climbing (literally – at least, by stairs) up to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower, and opportunities to explore parts of Paris on foot and by coach.

With their enthusiastic response to 'PGL Joe', our guide, our students made the visit a real success.  Not only did they have on-board entertainment in the form of Dr Smith and Miss Sanchez singing an unforgettable rendition of ‘Fairytale of New York’, in addition the coach came with a DJ in the form of Peter the coach driver, who helped our students to appreciate some older French classics such as ‘Aux Champs Elysées’.

Our students were a credit to Frome College and their families throughout the visit; it was a pleasure to take them to France.  I would like to thank all the staff who helped to make the visit a success, in particular Dr Smith, Miss Harrison, Miss Sanchez and Mrs Love.
