Students of Frome college sixth form have once again achieved phenomenal results in their studies, with students moving on to prestigious universities and apprenticeships.

Three students have been successful in their applications to Oxford (currently ranked 2nd best university globally). Ben Davies (A*A*A* in Maths, Further Maths and Physics) will be going on to study Mathematics, Bertie Harrison-Broninski (A,A,A in English Literature , Music and History) and will be studying English Language and Literature. Our third Oxford student is Ailsa Williams (A*A*A* in Maths, Biology and Chemistry) and will be studying Biomedical Sciences.

Nationally only one in five applications to Oxford and Cambridge are successful.  In the last two years we have sent 7 students off to either Cambridge or Oxbridge and whilst we are proud of the accomplishments of all our students. It would be amiss not to celebrate these outstanding achievements.

Blythe Plenderleith has not only achieved a remarkable A*A*A* in Graphics, Drama and Art but has also gained entry to Glasgow School of Art where she will study Fine Art - Environmental Art/Sculpture. Her course is highly competitive with under 12% of applicants gaining a place. Blythe is a phenomenal artist who has already won several awards for her art work outside of school.

“The students in year 13 started Frome College during my first year as Principal. I am incredibly proud to see them going off to the best universities, securing apprenticeships and achieving excellent results. As teachers we work to improve the life chances of the students in our schools, it’s clear to me that this has been achieved by the staff at Frome College who truly make the school an outstanding place to be taught.” – Gavin Ball, Principal.
