Congratulations go to Isabelle Book in Year 11, and Seb Costello in Year 12 who have both received these prestigious awards.

The Rotary Club of Frome Selwood Young Citizen of the Year is awarded a trophy in memory of Eric Cretney, a former member.  His widow, Dot Cretney is a member of the Frome Rotary club, and regular attendee at the Frome Selwood Club as well, and presented the trophy to the winner. The award to Isabelle Book was on Tuesday 6 June at The Fox restaurant in Tytherington at 7.30pm.  The annual Frome Young Citizen Award was first presented in 2004 and Isabelle was chosen this year from 5 candidates. She is a very busy and inspirational young lady, and her achievements so far on the Rugby pitch and raising money for charity has been exceptional.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award is a scheme which Frome College students have won several times, and is a character forming course of outdoor challenges and leadership.  This year the award went to Seb Costello, who was also there to receive this fantastic award. The RYLA course took place on Dartmoor from 11 -17 February 2017. Rotarians interviewed 6 students and Seb Costello was chosen. He did very well on the course and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, although Dartmoor in February was quite a challenge.

Both students performed brilliantly on the evening and impressed the whole club. Rotarians also took the opportunity to wish Frome College Principal, Gavin Ball, every success in his new promotion and thanked him for his efforts at the College, and the continual relationship with Rotary.

Well done to both of them for such outstanding achievements!
