Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising non-uniform day in Lauren Mead’s honour, which has raised £1,140.65. Lauren’s family have chosen two charities to support, SADS UK which research Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome, and the Nyota Ing’arayo (Shining Star) Charitable Trust, working towards health, education and attendance at a school in Mombasa.

Richard Tewkesbury from the Nyota Ing’arayo Trust and Adrian Mead, Lauren’s father, visited Frome College on Wednesday 22 January to meet with Principal, Ms Reynolds and Dr Sadowski, Head of Sixth Form, to catch up on the fantastic work being done in Mombasa with the funds raised.  Richard thanked Frome College for all the donations, and hopes to return from his next trip to Mombasa to do an assembly so students can see how much the money has helped the children out there to be able to attend school.

You can find out more about the project on their Facebook pages at  https://www.facebook.com/Nyota-Ingarayo-Charitable-Trust-UK-2122559384725057/?view_public_for=2122559384725057 or the school in Mombasa at https://www.facebook.com/nyotaingarayo/
